We believe that God has deliberately made Himself known to mankind through the Bible. Because God has clearly revealed Himself in Scripture, we believe that we can be certain of our purpose, practices and doctrinal beliefs.

ESSENTIAL BELIEFS

The Bible

We believe the Bible is inspired by God, free from error, infallible, sufficient, and is the rule of faith and 
             practice in the Church. We believe that the Bible contains the very words of God.

God

We believe there is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ,

including his virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection,

ascension to the right hand of the Father and bodily return in power and glory.

Salvation

We believe all people are sinful, born separated from God and unable to save themselves.

Salvation is provided to sinners by grace alone, through faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the full deity of the Holy Spirit, who indwells every believer upon conversion,

enabling obedience, spiritual growth, and eternal perseverance.

The Church

We believe that the universal church is comprised of all of the redeemed throughout space and time.

We believe that commitment to the local church is necessary for spiritual health.

CHURCH DISTINCTIVES

Baptist

We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion of born again believers in water, in the name of the

Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Baptism is the outward display of a person's death to the old self and new life in Christ.

Southern Baptist

While our church is totally autonomous, we voluntarily associate, partner with, and support the

Southern Baptist Convention, Mississippi Baptist Convention, and Jackson County Baptist Association.

We are in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
